The move to college was big but exciting, Vivian mused. There was alot of packing that had to be done but with Demi's help, it was made quick work. Vivian was very pleased to know Demi would be one of her roommates. Sure, the rest of her roomies were mostly family but she hadn't talked to them in such a long time. She didn't really like the akward feeling of living with people she barely knew. Demi made sure to help her ease into the situation.
Eva wasted no time scoping out the dorm for males. The only males, though, were her brothers, her sister's fiancee and some strangely-dressed boy. While she wouldn't have minded flirting with Anthony in Roselle's absence, she knew the indiscretion would be sure to somehow find its way to Roselle and then it would be World War III in the Hess family. So she kept her hands to herself and the only other available man.
Anthony was happy to have new roommates. He hadn't really gotten to know the Hess twins so this was the perfect opportunity. Making new friends was awesome, right? Especially when they enjoyed dancing as much as he did.
It was a shame they didn't enjoy his cooking as much as he hoped, though. He tried to win the girls over with his insanely awesome cooking skills. Normally, he was a good cook. But something just went wrong as he tried to grill the sandwiches. While Demi did like Anthony, she wasn't about to lie to him about his sandwiches. She let him have it...hard.
She only had so long to put up with them. Anthony studied hard and by the next final, he was finally able to graduate. There was a small party in his honor at the dorm. His former dorm mates came and congratulated him, as well as give him a ride back to town. He was excited, of course. He finally got to see the house he'd be sharing with Roselle and any future children.
One of her friends gone, Eva sought out to make more. There was a new sorority on campus so Eva tried to make a good impression on the sisters. She got along swimmingly with two of the girls but the last was very difficult. Perhaps it was because she wasn't even human? Aliens were notoriously stubborn.
But Eva took a hint from Henri. When something you want is hard to get, you get stubborn too. Don't budge for anything. His constant efforts to put the final lasso around Marie paid off, as during their junior year she accepted his marriage proposal. Even she was surprised with her actions.
The sudden influx of proposing encouraged Demi and Vivian to get engaged as well. They were worried at first. They knew of a few lesbian couples, one of whom was engaged but there were no official marriages in Sparrowhill. They'd be the first, wouldn't they? The thought of being the first was scary. People would be watching. In the end, Vivian came to terms with her feelings. It was worth having people watch her every move, to be able to call Demi her partner for life.
At least she was lucky enough to have a partner who's eyes didn't waver. Henri began getting strange feelings around Catalina. The two were good friends, they had been since childhood. But she was Gabe's girl. So why was she suddenly acting so flirtatious towards him? Didn't she know his love for Marie was strong?
In the event of physical proof of her indiscretion, Gabe didn't have to worry about finding another. There were a few girls on campus who liked him. One even streaked naked throughout the dorm, intent on finding him and showing him the goods. But for now, those goodies had to stay in the jar. He still loved Catalina, after all.
There was woman who's love they could all share, though: Mama. Sophia was very proud of all her children, encouraging them to continue working hard while in college. When she was able to find babysitters to take care of Joel and Natasha, she would visit the dorm and sometimes even stay the night. Henri felt embarrassed when Sophia fussed over his messy hair, though, especially when she did it in front of his girl.
The semester was coming to a close and Vivian wanted to do something special. So she gathered herself, Eva and Demi and the three girls decided to visit My Muse, a dancing studio Vivian had been part of since childhood. They all took lessons from the instructor and Vivian even participated in a dancing contest. Though she didn't win, she did feel happy about being among people with common interests.
When the semester finally ended, it was time for the second batch of new students to say good bye. Unlike Anthony, there was no huge party for any of them. There were just hugs, kisses and wishes all around. Gabriel and Catalina returned to town first, while Henri finished making sure the place was okay to leave to the girls. Eventually, he too left the campus, eagerly awaiting for the day his sweet Marie was to join him.
