It seemed like just yesterday that Sophia was holding Henri in her arms, ignoring the aching screams coming from Samantha as she was devoured by a swarm of carnivorous flies. Yes, those were the days. But here, now, her dear little Henri was slowly becoming a grown man. Physically, anyway. His mind was still stuck in pre-teen mode. He didn't seem to care much about doing hard work like Gabriel or Roselle before him. He spent much of his timing just eating grilled cheese, packing on the pounds. Sophia had gotten to the point of making him sit on the exercise bike for hours on end. He was just so difficult to make clothes for nowadays!
His love for grilled cheese greatly outweighed his love for money. While he did get a job, it wasn't very successful for him. His weight made him a laughing stock among the mime community. A plus-size mime? Hah! Sophia did wish he carried over his mime traits, though, when he was home. He refused to talk about anything but cheese and grills and all the things inbetween. No one really wanted to hear another ramble. Henri found his only listner to be his little sister, Vivian. Her sweet nature left her blind to her brother's utter stupidity.
Vivian actually enjoyed listening to her brother's strange tales but when grew too tired (thanks to so many sandwiches) and had to take a nap, she was left to find something else to do. She had already a deep love for music and dance. She practiced the basic ballet warm ups each night and enjoyed playing music on the radio. But it never occurred to her to actually create music herself. After seeing her mother playing the violin, Vivian decided to give it a try and was a natural.
While she took to the violin easily, her sister had more trouble finding her niche. She tried painting but only made a huge mess. She grew easily bored of books and movies. She was terrified of the ant farm. So she tried baking. After all, big brother Gabe loved it, why wouldn't see? It took a few tries to manage to make a decently tasting muffin and as with all the other things she tried, Eva wasn't amused. Surely, there was SOMETHING she could try that would thrill her, right?
Amin finally got back on Sophia's good side. He was allowed to sleep in the same bed as her, though she refused to let him actually touch her. While she allowed him rest in a nice warm bed, there were others who did not. During the night, he felt immense coldness. It was strange, for the heater was actually on. He woke up, hoping to find the source when he was surrounded by strange images. Whispy forms floated around him, screeching and yelling at him. He tried to wake Sophia up but after receiving a boot to the head, he just crawled downstairs and back into the cold embrace of the living room sofa.
Sophia ignored Amin for the most part. She instead spent time with Celeste Lam and Renae Coleman. The two women were very sweet and Sophia greatly enjoyed their company. Celeste shared her love of art, so the two often conversed about new styles and which art supplies gave the best results. With Renae, Sophia enjoyed the ability to play chess with someone who wouldn't cheat. Her children, though they seemed to be angels, were quite the devils when it came to the game of kings. But something about Renae made Sophia a bit worried....
While her friendships were going well, her business was seeing the darker side of days. There weren't many customers coming in and those who did were often stubborn. Sophia tried to work her magic on everyone, but there were those special few who were just ice in the face of her passionate words. Challenges were fun but Sophia easily got annoyed. For a while, she didn't open her shop at all! Those stubborn folk were partly to blame, of course.
The other reason was due to the fact she had yet another baby on her hands. Her pregnancy was actually surprising. For the longest time, she didn't even know she was with child until she suddenly popped! Strangely, this pregnancy took an awful long time but in the end, she had another son to care for. Joel, she called him, shared the red hair of Daniel and Henri. The entire house adored the boy. Though, Eva was a bit scared. Did her mother have enough love for all of them?
Her worries weren't too large. The house was getting smaller anyway. With the coming of Joel, it led to the end of Henri and Gabriel. The two boys finished tying up some loose ends before college. They would be joining their older siblings and their loved ones in the dorm. Henri was looking forward to the concept of not having to cook his own grilled cheese (Daniel had said good things about the in-house chef) while Gabriel was just happy to spend more time with Catalina, who would be joining them.
